A local band was playing and there were lots of booths selling ice cream and drinks. We parked at The Granary which was very convenient and very cheap. The location is not the best with a view across the waterfront of huge industrial storage silos and warehousing so not exactly pretty. The shops are varied with an excellent craft venue mixed with more upmarket designer boutiques. The Stamp Museum closes at 4.30pm so I missed the opportunity to visit there. The bar we stopped at was in chaos though. Too few staff, long queues to pay, slow service all made for a very frustrating afternoon. You can find souvenir shops, boutiques and stalls, restaurants/cafes/fast food, a small shopping mall, art shops, gym, cinema, casino, hotels, offices, convention areas and much more.It is a very touristy area and the prices are quite expensive. There is also a marina and a large paid parking. The area is almost completely pedestrianised. The main street is decorated with works of art, fountains and umbrellas hanging over the heads of tourists. It is a quiet and quite clean area. But if you want to enjoy the traditional Mauritian life you have to move away from this area and walk through the narrow streets and the market of the old town. The central market of Port Louis was just 2 minutes walk via the under pass, though we did not like that market – so we ended up coming back to Le Caudan. There were good clean washroom facilities, lot of eateries, photo spots.Parking is also great – we parked easily in the Marina Quay parking (Some 120 Mauritian for 4 hours). Entering the Le Caudan is also super easy, despite the Port Louis traffic – though getting out we did find a lot of traffic just outside Le Caudan. It’s a vibrant hub where modernity meets charm, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring the city. The picturesque views, colorful buildings, and lively atmosphere create a unique experience that’s hard to match elsewhere. However, the beauty comes at a price—literally. Everything here is priced on the level of the skies. From luxury boutiques to expensive souvenir shops, it’s clear that this area caters to those with deep pockets. While it may not be the best spot for budget shopping, it’s still an amazing place to stroll, enjoy the views, and soak in the ambiance.Even if you’re not buying, the Caudan Waterfront offers plenty of eye candy and is perfect for a leisurely walk or a glimpse into the luxurious side of Mauritius. Is was a long journey but was fun. The locals are friendly & proud of where they live & happy to share their knowledge with you. The Waterfront is a short distance from the bus station in the town & very easy to find. Nice & modern, coffee shops, So good to have a decent coffee & tea. There’s restaurants of all kinds. All at good prices. Plenty of shops. There are two small museums there. Really nice & enjoyable day out. We got a taxi back to our hotel as the bus had stopped running 2800 rupees we paid but we were at the opposite side of the island & when you take into account how cheap the buses are we didn’t mind. Definitely worth a visit.Lovley place, nice & relaxed & good prices. Basic outfits in light fabric without brand in galleries sold 5000/6000 rupees, not to mention craftsmanship 10 euros minimum the mini product that basic does not cost cheap in market, jewelry, luxury pastries, in short everything will depend on your budget for this passage and your desires. Disappointed, time passes and not necessarily new, internationalizes and becomes flavorless. Mm price than in metropolitan France for most products. The establishment features a variety of shops, banking services, casinos, cinemas, dining options, a marina, and the luxurious five-star hotel, Le Labourdonnais. The walkway, adorned with vibrant umbrellas, guides visitors through a selection of local boutiques offering a diverse range of products, from stationery to clothing. For those seeking to satisfy their hunger, the food court offers a variety of delectable options, while the relaxed cafés provide refreshing beverages, and the restaurants feature a selection of international dishes.
