However there was a lot of building/repair work going on so large parts were behind screens. It isn’t very big and it was absolutely packed. On arrival, the queue for tickets was already huge—easily a 30–40 minute wait just to get in. Having explored a few other sites earlier in the day, it was clear this was one of the busiest attractions in Marrakech—and for good reason. Despite the crowds, the palace is nothing short of magnificent. With its maze of rooms, intricate mosaic tiles, carved ceilings, and vibrant stained glass windows, it’s easy to see why “Bahia” translates to beautiful. Every corner tells a story of artistry and craftsmanship that’s stood the test of time. Unfortunately, the earthquake a couple of years ago caused some damage to the site, and while there were visible restoration works during our visit, it was encouraging to see how much care and effort is going into preserving its legacy for future generations.
