During my visit, I was subjected to unjustified and unlawful behavior by the Head of Security of the mall. While exiting the mall, I was using a Marjane shopping cart to transport my purchased items toward the exit—a normal and commonly accepted practice, with no posted rules or internal regulations indicating that such use is prohibited. Despite this, the Head of Security stopped me, restricted my freedom of movement, and prevented me from walking normally through the commercial area without any legal justification. The manner in which I was addressed was disrespectful and humiliating, and this incident took place in public view. My wife, who is a foreign national, was present and witnessed the entire event. The behavior we experienced caused us significant embarrassment and emotional distress, particularly as my wife, being unfamiliar with such conduct, was shocked by the unprofessional and inappropriate attitude displayed. This action constitutes a clear abuse of authority and an overstepping of the legal powers granted to private security personnel. It also violates the provisions of Law No. 27-06, which regulates the private security profession in Morocco and prohibits security agents from intervening beyond their authorized scope. Moreover, such behavior harms the reputation of commercial establishments in Morocco, especially in the presence of international visitors. In light of the above, I respectfully request that an investigation be opened into this incident and that appropriate legal measures be taken. Our apartment was right next to Marina Mall Casablanca and in my opinion that was much a better Mall than Morocco Mall. The only high light was the Aquarium but even that you couldn’t go in the lift as repairs was going on. Too much construction work going on everywhere, it was very like a ghost town. Yes all the big designer outlets are there but you need an atmosphere as well which this Mall was seriously lacking. Forget anything good you ever read about this being one of the must see places when visiting Casa. It’s not! Specially if you’re trying to do some shopping. Even the shops at the Medina are way better compared to this mall! I don’t know what all the hype is even about. There aren’t even decent stores to shop. You don’t come to Morocco to buy designer when Europe is literally a hop away because it’s obviously more expensive to buy designer goods here in Morocco. For starters: – The selection of stores sucks – The A/C in this mall doesn’t event work (It’s sad when it’s cooler walking the cafes outside than inside the “luxurious best mall in Africa” in the middle of July) – The bathrooms are disgusting! Hold you P or P until you leave. Even popping in the street if you had to “Bridesmaids Style” would be a better experience and definitely more sanitary. – The floor has broken tiles everywhere. If you are not careful and looking down sometimes you will trip and fall. Do visit the Anfal and Marina center for way better shopping. They are not the best either but at least they have A/C without broken tiles on the floor and both are way more shoppable depending on what you’re looking for than this “Morocco Mall.” They should just strip this mall of its name so it doesn’t give Morocco a bad reputation whoever owns it since they clearly don’t care to maintain it even though there are signs saying it’s getting a Glow Up 👀🤣 If you still end up going to visit this “must see best mall in Africa” just to see if it’s true or any other reason and feel the same way, please please also share your thoughts to prevent others from wasting their time, sweating while shopping and tripping off the floor tiles.
