Immerse yourself in the vibrant São João Batista festival in Santo Antão. Over three days, experience the pilgrimage, the romaria, and the final celebration in Ribeira das Patas. Stay in local accommodation and enjoy cultural orientation and on-the-ground support during the main festival moments.Begin with a cultural orientation briefing to prepare for the festival. Then, witness diverse recreational, sporting, and cultural activities, the agricultural fair, and gastronomic and musical exhibitions at the ‘Nós Raiz’ Cultural Village.On the night of June 22, watch the São João Romaria parade along the city’s main avenue. On June 23, join the 22–24 km pilgrimage along the Ribeira das Patas–Porto Novo route — an authentic acrobatic and colorful ‘Kola Son Jon’ spectacle to the beat of the drums.On June 24, participate in the massive procession through the main streets of the city and Eucharistic ceremonies symbolizing the visit and greeting of all the parish’s saints to the patron Saint. Finally, return to Ribeira das Patas with cultural and religious activities.
