🕓Nairobi: Cooking Class, Village Visit, Feed Cow, Tea Picking

Time to ditch the typical tourist itinerary and embark on an unforgettable adventure to rural Kenya!Embark on an unforgettable adventure to rural Kenya with a local guide. Visit a village nestled on the scenic slopes of the Aberdare Ranges, 130 kilometers from Nairobi. Here, we will cook a traditional meal together and engage in local activities including picking tea leaves and feeding the cow.Early in the morning, I will pick you at your hotel or the airport (if you’ve just arrived). As we travel towards my village, you will enjoy fascinating stories and rich history about the local culture and the places you pass. The journey will take about 2hours and 30 minutes, with a one stop over to take a break. Once we arrive in the village, we will be welcomed by my mother mother with a hearty village breakfast.We will then head to a small subsistence farm to pick some fresh groceries (if we will not buy them on one of the markets along the way). We will also harvest some food, ‘Napier grass,’ for the cow. We will then go back home, feed the cow and take the goat to its grazing location. Then, we will gather in the kitchen to cook some local delicious meals. Everyone willing to try the cooking will be welcome to engage in the process and have fun while at it.After eating the delicious lunch, we will head back to the farm. You will learn how to pick tea leaves and even give it a try. That will be a good chance to take some fun memorable photos. After that, we can engage in other activities of your choice including feeding the cow, tilling the farm, carrying farm manure, feeding the rabbits, walking to the local shopping center, walking to the river, and much more. We have so many activities in the village, the only limitation might be time. As the day ends, I will Drive you uphill to a point where you can get the best views of the picturesque landscapes on the slopes of the Aberdare Ranges. Here, you will watch the sunset as the sun hides behind the Aberdare Ranges.With the day ending, I will drive back to your hotel or any other drop off point within Nairobi CBD or Thika Super Highway.
