Begin your day with a convenient hotel pickup in Kigali and enjoy a scenic drive to Akagera, Rwanda’s only Big Five national park. Upon arrival, embark on a guided game drive in a comfortable 4×4 vehicle, giving you the best chance to spot wildlife across different habitats.During the game drive, keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, antelope, warthogs, and baboons, plus abundant birdlife. Depending on the day and wildlife movement, you may also have a chance to see lions and rhinos, though sightings can never be guaranteed. Your driver-guide will share insights about the ecosystem, animal behavior, and conservation efforts in Akagera while adjusting the route based on fresh sightings and park conditions.Midday, take a break for lunch (picnic-style or at a designated location, depending on the day’s plan). After lunch, continue your safari drive before exiting the park and returning to Kigali in the late afternoon or evening.For an even richer experience, upgrade to include a Lake Ihema boat safari, offering close views of hippos, crocodiles, and water birds (subject to schedule and availability).
