Your day begins with pickup from your hotel at 8 00 AM, followed by a drive toward the bustling Brikama Market, where you will briefly observe everyday local activities and market life.From Brikama, we continue onto the sandy roads leading to Kuloro, the guide’s home village. As we pass through the village, expect smiling children waving and calling “Toubab!”, offering you a warm welcome into local Gambian culture.We soon reach the riverside vegetable gardens, where local women farm by the creek. From here, your guide will lead you on a beautiful nature walk through the forest, with the special opportunity to find nocturnal birds resting during the day. These species normally hunt at night, so spotting them in their daytime roosts is a rare treat for bird lovers.Next, you will cross the creek by boat to reach Baobab Island, named after the many ancient baobab trees that dominate the landscape. On arrival, enjoy a complimentary glass of fresh baobab juice, use the facilities, and prepare for a 1-hour scenic boat trip around the island.During the boat ride, soft drinks and cold water will be served. You will see how oysters grow naturally on the mangrove roots, and with a little luck, you may spot crocodiles sunbathing along the creek banks. The peaceful environment and bird calls make this moment incredibly relaxing.After exploring, we return to the island lodge for a delicious lunch and some time to unwind in the quiet natural surroundings before driving back to your hotel.
