Get picked up at your hotel/residence with an electric Tuktuk that brings you to Kongo River where your experience begins. You’ll be introduced to your local captain and board a traditional ngalewa canoe. Learn about the traditional canoes and their importance to the local community in the past as well as now.As you glide along the river, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mangroves and coastline while learning about the local fishing traditions that have shaped the area for generations. You also get to learn how to differentiate the mangroves and get to know the names of the various bird species around.Pass close to a cave shrine and get to learn about its significance and use. Have a stopover and enjoy traditional local tribal music and dance that captures the heritage of the Digo community.As the sun begins to set, take in the golden reflections across the water and capture unforgettable photographs from the canoe. Following the cruise, arrive at a beautifully prepared riverside picnic setup.Settle into a relaxed atmosphere featuring cushions, a picnic table, fairy lights, and carefully selected refreshments while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
